Community Manager
The Community Manager, with his or her staff of about 6 people, will manage the CW’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Google+ and the to-be-created Vimeo. He or she will serve as the main point of contact for the online community for the Crimson White, and organize promotional efforts and events.
Position: Paid
The Community Manager will:
- work with the Online Editor daily to plan the next day’s Tweets and Facebook posts, including polls, stories to be posted on Timeline and uploads of the day’s front page.
- personally manage the @TheCrimsonWhite Twitter account with one of the Assistant Community Managers, following the CW Social Media Style Guide.
- coordinate CW public appearances, like the table in the Ferguson Center on Wednesdays and any forums or discussions proposed by the Editor-in-Chief
- coordinate CW promotions–campaigns to gain Twitter followers, etc.
- Participate in Editorial Board
This position requires:
- proficiency with social media management apps, such as Co-Tweet or TweetDeck
- ability to analyze data produced by social media
- ability to crowd-source information and respond quickly in breaking news situations
- expertise in CW Social Media Style (will also help write it, using Best Practices developed by the two previous staffs)
- expertise with Twitter and a good sense of Public Relations
